Know why PM Modi’s Japan visit is important
Japan can announce 10 trillion yen (almost double) private investment in India for the next ten years during PM Modi’s visit. This will be a much bigger step than the target of 5 trillion yen set in 2022. Japan is a big supporter of Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Maruti Suzuki is now also starting to export electric vehicles from India. A major project like the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train is an example of the partnership between the two countries. Apart from this, India and Japan can agree to create a new economic security framework for semiconductors, rare minerals and clean energy supply, which will reduce India’s dependence on China.
