
Mumbai. Mumbai Police Control Room received a lot of threats on Friday from three different numbers. The caller claimed that a bomb has been placed at Mumbai International Airport and a massive explosion is going to happen in a short while.
After this call, Mumbai Police immediately became alert and a team of bomb squad along with police officials reached the airport. Even after hours of intensive search operation, nothing suspicious was found.
According to information received from police officials, the unknown caller had threatened to bomb Terminal 2 of Mumbai Airport. As soon as the information was received, top officials of Mumbai Police and the bomb disposal squad reached the spot. Every inch of the airport was searched, but the police did not find anything that could confirm the presence of a bomb.
Threatening calls linked to Assam-Bengal border
Initial investigation has revealed that these threatening calls were made using mobile numbers active near the Assam and West Bengal border. Azad Maidan Police of Mumbai has started investigation against the unknown caller. At present, the police is investigating the entire matter thoroughly so that the person making the threat can be reached and his intentions can be found out.
