
New Delhi: BJP’s national working president and five-time MLA Nitin Naveen has been elected unopposed as the BJP’s national president. The official announcement of his name will be made tomorrow, Tuesday, at 11:30 AM. 37 nomination papers were filed for Nitin Naveen. Returning Officer Dr. K. Laxman said that the process for the election of the BJP national president has been completed.
According to the rules, this process was initiated after the election of state presidents in 30 out of 36 states of the country, which is well above the required 50 percent mark. The official notification for this election was issued on January 16, 2026.
37 Nomination Papers Filed for Nitin Naveen
Nomination papers were filed between 2 PM and 4 PM on Monday. A total of 37 sets of nominations were submitted in support of Nitin Naveen for the post of president. All the nomination papers were scrutinized and found to be completely correct. After the deadline for withdrawal of nominations had passed, the election officer officially announced that only one name, Nitin Naveen, had emerged for the post of president.
Appointed Working President on December 14
Nitin Naveen, a minister in the Bihar government, was given a major responsibility on December 14 last year. The BJP appointed him as the party’s national working president. Naveen, a five-time MLA from Bankipur in Patna, is 45 years old. He has considerable experience in both government and organization. Nitin Naveen is the son of BJP leader Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha. Nitin Naveen has served as a minister in the Bihar government three times. He has also been the in-charge of Chhattisgarh BJP. Besides this, he has also served as the state president of BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM).
Who is Nitin Naveen?
Nitin Naveen was born on May 23, 1980, in Ranchi, Jharkhand. His father, Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha, was also an MLA and was associated with the JP movement. He was one of the founding members of the BJP. Nitin entered politics after the death of his father. He became a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the first time in 2006. Since then, he has consistently won elections from Bankipur constituency. He secured consecutive victories from Bankipur in 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025. He has also held positions such as President and National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).
