In the final played at the DY Patil Stadium, India batted first and set a target of 299 runs for South Africa. Shafali Verma scored 87 and Deepti Sharma scored a crucial 58. In reply, South Africa was bowled out for 246, and India won the match by 52 runs. Deepti Sharma displayed her bowling prowess, taking 5 wickets.

This victory is also special for India because in the 52-year history of the World Cup, the Indian women’s team reached the final for the third time, and this time, under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, the team won the trophy.
