New Delhi: Indian Premier League team Sunrisers Hyderabad CEO Kavya Maran’s troubles may increase. The reason is a big controversy going on within her family… South India’s big media company Sun Network’s owner and Kavya’s father, Kalanidhi Maran, has been accused of money laundering. This matter has been raised by her brother and former MP Dayanidhi Maran.
The real dispute is about the stake in Sun Network. Before 2003, Maran family and Karunanidhi family had equal stake in this company, but after 2003, there was a change in it. It is alleged that companies like Sun Direct TV, Sun Pictures, FM channel and even IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad were set up by misusing the company’s funds.
Now if the court decides that the old share pattern (of 2003) should be restored, then there may be a change in the ownership of Sun Network. This can also affect the IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In such a situation, BCCI may have to intervene and take a decision and Sun TV may have to sell the team. If this happens, then Kavya Maran, who is seen in every match in IPL, may not be the owner of the team next time. If this dispute is not resolved soon, then it can become a nightmare for the Sunrisers Hyderabad team and its fans.
