Trump’s Commerce Minister Howard Lutnick gave an update on India-US trade deal, says I am a fan of India

Washington. In the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum held in Washington DC, America’s Commerce Minister Howard Lutnick spoke openly on the strengthening relations between India and America.

Referring to the popularity and mandate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump, he said that Trump is the only leader of America who was elected by the whole country, and PM Modi’s position in India is also the same. There are very few leaders in the world who have got the mandate of the whole country. This is what makes the relationship between the two special and rare.

He described this strong relationship as a positive beginning in terms of trade agreement. Lutnick said, ‘When the relationship is strong, the path to the trade agreement becomes easier.’

Howard Lutnick said that trade agreements usually take years, but India is trying to speed up the process. He said, ‘Countries that move first always get a better deal. India is active in this direction, and we hope that soon an agreement can be reached that is beneficial for both countries.’

‘I am a big fan of India’
Lutnick also shared his personal attachment to India. He said, ‘I am a big fan of India. One of my good friends is Nikesh Arora, who is Indian. When I used to go to India, we used to play cricket, have parties at homes, it was a different experience.’

‘Want to give the best chips to friendly countries’
Speaking on AI and technical cooperation, Lutnick said that the Trump administration thinks of taking its allies along. We want to give our best chips to our friendly countries, provided they do not go into the wrong hands. If India wants to build huge data centers and wants to be a partner in the AI ​​revolution, then we are fully prepared for it.’

Howard Lutnick said, ‘President Trump’s thinking is ‘America First’, but not ‘only America’. First we have to make our country strong, then we have to take care of our allies. He has deep respect for India. We are moving towards a great partnership with India.’
