New Delhi: Amidst escalating tensions between the US and Iran in the Middle East, a US Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft has suddenly gone missing from the Gulf region. This incident has caused a stir throughout the entire area. However, no official statement regarding this matter has yet been issued by the United States. It is reported that while flying near the Strait of Hormuz, the aircraft issued a general emergency alert, shortly after which it suddenly disappeared.
According to flight tracking systems, the US KC-135 Stratotanker was conducting an aerial refueling operation in the Gulf region when it issued the international emergency code 7700. Approximately one hour later, the aircraft’s transponder signal vanished completely.
Reports indicate that after issuing transponder code 7700, the aircraft began descending and altered its course, turning toward Qatar. It was at that moment that it suddenly disappeared from radar. This incident occurred after the aircraft changed its flight path and reduced its altitude during an aerial refueling mission in the Gulf. However, the US Air Force has not issued an official statement regarding this incident.
Initially, it was unclear how many crew members were on board the aircraft. According to US Air Force data, this aircraft is typically operated by a single crew member and features a cargo deck capable of accommodating passengers as well. The disappearance of the transponder signal has heightened fears of a potential crash. However, there has been no confirmation thus far regarding any wreckage, distress calls, rescue operations, or maritime alerts.
