Tehran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed on Tuesday that the US military suffered heavy losses in the first two days of Iran’s retaliatory operation “True Promise 4.” More than 650 soldiers were killed or injured in two days.
IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini said that Iranian missile and drone attacks targeted US bases and warships in the Persian Gulf region, forcing the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to withdraw from the Iranian coast.
US suffers heavy losses in first two days
The spokesman confirmed that Iranian forces inflicted heavy damage on US military bases in the Persian Gulf region. General Naeini said, “650 US soldiers were killed or injured in the first two days of the war.” He stressed that the US is trying to conceal or deny these casualties, but Iranian intelligence and battlefield reports confirm this figure.
‘Attack on Fifth Fleet in Bahrain’
According to General Naini, Iranian missiles and drones repeatedly attacked the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain. According to the claim, 160 US personnel were killed or injured when a major US military base in Bahrain was targeted. Furthermore, the US Navy’s ‘MST’ combat support ship was also heavily damaged by Iranian naval missiles.
‘Aircraft carrier forced to retreat’
An IRGC spokesperson revealed that Iranian naval forces fired four cruise missiles at the USS Abraham Lincoln, stationed approximately 250 to 300 kilometers off the Chabahar coast. Following these attacks, the aircraft carrier reportedly fled for safety towards the southeastern Indian Ocean. He stated that Iran is using its full military might under Operation ‘True Promise 4’. At present, tension in this region has reached unprecedented levels, due to which there is a serious threat to global security.
