PM Modi will visit Manipur today for the first time after racial violence broke out

New Delhi. For the first time after racial violence broke out in May 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur. During this, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of various development schemes in Meitei-dominated Imphal as well as Kuki-dominated Chuda Chandpur and will also address the public meeting.

PM will try to appease both the communities
It is believed that this visit of the Prime Minister will work to ease the path of permanent peace in Manipur, which has been a victim of racial violence for a long time. The opposition has been making an issue of the Prime Minister not visiting Manipur for a long time. After Manipur, the Prime Minister will participate in many programs in Assam, West Bengal and Bihar.

In fact, violence started between the Kuki and Meitei communities on May 3, 2023 after a decision of the Manipur High Court. After that, the Kuki community had blocked NH-2 and other roads connecting Assam.

President’s rule imposed in Manipur
After controlling the violence, President’s rule was imposed in Manipur in February this year to restore trust. After this, the efforts to make peace by sitting with both the communities separately and then together bore fruit last month.

In Delhi, the Kuki militant groups agreed to move their camps away from the Meitei-dominated areas by signing the Suspension of Operation. The Kuki-dominated organization also agreed to open all highways including NH-2 for movement.

Prime Minister’s visit is important
After these efforts towards peace, now the Prime Minister’s visit is important in terms of giving it stability. By choosing both Kuki-dominated Chuda Chandpur and Meitei-dominated Imphal in Prime Minister Modi’s program, the message has been given that the government is giving equal importance to both. No one will be discriminated against.

In Chuda Chandpur, those 7300 crores were spent. PM will lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 3600 crore in Imphal. Along with this, he will also lay the foundation stone of five national highway projects worth Rs 2500 crore, Manipur Infotech Development Project and Working Women Hostel at nine places.

PM Modi will also visit Assam, West Bengal and Bihar
After Manipur, Prime Minister Modi will visit Assam, West Bengal and Bihar, the states where assembly elections are to be held in the next few months. In Assam, after participating in the birth centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika on September 13, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 18500 crore on September 14.

On September 15, after inaugurating the 16th Joint Commander Conference in Kolkata, he will go to Purnia in Bihar. Along with inaugurating the new terminal of the airport in Purnia, he will also launch the newly formed National Makhana Board.

Also will inaugurate and lay foundation stone of various schemes worth about Rs 3600 crore, which includes 2400 MW thermal power plant at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur, international project connecting Koshi-Mechi river.
