Washington: Turmoil has gripped the entire world due to the conflict involving Iran. Amidst the shifting global landscape, US President Donald Trump placed a phone call to PM Modi on Tuesday (April 14). The conversation between the two leaders lasted for 40 minutes. Now, Trump himself has disclosed the specific issues that were discussed between the two heads of state.
Speaking to the media in Las Vegas on Friday, the US President stated that he had a very good conversation with his friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “He is my friend from India, and he is doing a great job. Our conversation went very well.”
Trump called PM Modi to discuss bilateral relations and the situation in West Asia. During this conversation, both leaders emphasized the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and secure. According to US Ambassador Sergey Gore, at the conclusion of the call—which lasted approximately 40 minutes—Trump told Modi, “We all love you.” This marked the second phone conversation between the two leaders since the onset of the US-Israel-Iran conflict, which began on February 28.
Providing details regarding the phone conversation, Prime Minister Modi also stated that significant progress made in bilateral cooperation across various sectors was reviewed during the call. The situation in West Asia was also discussed between the two leaders, during which emphasis was placed on the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and secure.
PM Modi wrote on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter): “Received a call from my friend, President Donald Trump. We reviewed the significant progress made in our bilateral cooperation across various sectors. We remain committed to further strengthening our Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership in all areas. We also discussed the situation in West Asia and emphasized the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and secure.”
