Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary received a death threat over the phone, prompting the Bihar Police to take immediate action. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Munger Police initiated mobile tracking and, in pursuit of the accused, traveled all the way to Sanand in Gujarat. There, the police successfully arrested the individual who had issued the threat. The arrested accused has been identified as Shekhar Yadav, a native of the Banka district in Bihar. The police are now bringing him back to Bihar on a transit remand.
Just imagine—someone had the audacity to directly call the head of the state and issue a death threat. As soon as this information reached the police, it caused a stir within the department. The police did not delay for even a moment and immediately placed the mobile number from which the call originated under surveillance. Technical surveillance revealed that the individual issuing the threat was not located in Bihar, but was instead hiding in Gujarat. A special team from the Munger Police immediately departed for Gujarat and apprehended Shekhar Yadav in the Sanand area.
According to the police, Shekhar is indeed a resident of Bihar’s Banka district and was currently staying in Gujarat. He likely believed that by operating from such a distance, he would remain beyond the reach of the police; however, the police foiled his plan by utilizing his mobile location data. The police have also seized the mobile phone used to issue the threat to Samrat Chaudhary.
Currently, the Munger Police are presenting the accused before a court in Gujarat to secure a transit remand and bring him back to Bihar. The full truth regarding the incident is expected to emerge only after his interrogation upon arrival in Bihar. The police will attempt to ascertain why he threatened the Chief Minister. Was there a personal grudge behind this act, or is he part of a larger conspiracy? Given that this involves the security of the Chief Minister, the police are committed to investigating the matter to its very depths.
