UP: Horrific Road Accident in Jalaun; Six Dead, Four Critically Injured

Jalaun. Six people lost their lives and four others sustained critical injuries in a tragic road accident that occurred on Monday morning within the Kalpi Kotwali area of ​​Jalaun district. The accident took place near the Jolhupur turn, where a car returning to Orai from Ayodhya went out of control—reportedly after the driver dozed off at the wheel—and crashed into a vehicle traveling ahead of it.

According to reports, Shashikant Tiwari, a resident of Mehroni in the Lalitpur district, had traveled to Ayodhya with his family members for a pilgrimage. Following their visit, the entire group was returning by car. Around 6:00 AM on Monday, as their vehicle approached the Jolhupur turn in the Kalpi region, the driver suddenly fell asleep; consequently, the car veered out of control and collided with the vehicle moving in front of it.

The impact of the collision was so severe that four individuals died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital. Four people sustained critical injuries in the accident and were immediately admitted to the hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. Reports indicate that extracting the injured from the wreckage following the accident proved to be a difficult and arduous task. Some of the injured remained trapped inside the car’s cabin for nearly an hour before being successfully rescued with the assistance of local residents and the police.

A total of 10 people were traveling in the car; the passengers have been identified as Shashikant Tiwari, Krishnakant, Deepak Tiwari, Harimohan Tiwari, Bhushan Tiwari, Anshul Tiwari, Swami Prasad Tiwari, Manoj, and Deshraj. All the occupants are reported to be members of the same family. The accident caused a scene of chaos and panic at the site. Local residents immediately alerted the police. Upon receiving the information, the Kalpi Kotwali police team rushed to the scene, took custody of the bodies, and sent them for a post-mortem examination. An ambulance carrying injured patients arrived outside the Medical College’s emergency ward, but there was no ward boy present to help unload them. The situation was such that the patients continued to writhe in agony inside the ambulance for 10 minutes; eventually, bystanders somehow managed to extract the patients and transport them inside the emergency ward, where they are now battling for their lives.
