New Delhi: The ongoing military conflict between the United States and Iran has intensified, with the US reportedly deploying its B-1 Lancer strategic bomber in combat operations against Iranian targets for the first time since the latest round of hostilities began. The move is being viewed as a significant escalation in Washington’s military campaign.

According to US officials, the B-1 Lancer was used during Tuesday’s strikes targeting facilities linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The deployment marks the bomber’s first combat mission in the conflict, which has now entered its 12th day.

The B-1 Lancer is among the US Air Force’s most powerful long-range bombers. While the US Central Command (CENTCOM) did not specifically confirm the use of the B-1 bomber, it stated that American forces struck Iranian military operations centers, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, maritime assets, and logistics infrastructure. According to CENTCOM, the objective was to weaken Iran’s capability to threaten international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

US President Donald Trump has indicated that additional military action remains under consideration if Iran continues attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Reports suggest Washington and its allies believe the conflict could intensify further in the coming days.

Iran Responds With Fresh Threats
Despite sustained US airstrikes, Iran has continued attacks on US military bases in the region, according to reports. Tehran has also warned that it could target critical infrastructure in Gulf nations allied with the United States if military operations continue.

The conflict has also spilled into the Red Sea, where Yemen’s Houthi rebels have reportedly announced a blockade of Saudi ports and launched attacks on commercial shipping.
