‘You Can’t Intimidate Gen-Z’: Rahul Gandhi Launches Fresh Attack on PM Modi, Amit Shah Over NEET Protest Crackdown

New Delhi: The political battle over the NEET paper leak controversy has intensified, with Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi launching another sharp attack on the Centre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the police action against protesting students.

In a post on social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi accused the government of attempting to suppress the voices of students through intimidation. Addressing the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, he wrote, “PM Modi and Amit Shah—you cannot intimidate Gen-Z. First, you broke their bones, and now you are filing FIRs against them and getting their social media accounts shut down.”

Taking his criticism further, Rahul Gandhi warned the government, saying, “You represent India’s past. Be very careful about how you treat India’s future.”

The remarks come amid nationwide protests over alleged irregularities and the NEET paper leak. Students had staged demonstrations at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and participated in the ‘Sansad Chalo’ march on July 20, during which allegations of police use of force against protesters emerged.

According to reports, police have since registered cases against several student protesters, while multiple social media accounts associated with the movement have reportedly been blocked or suspended. Rahul Gandhi has repeatedly accused the Centre of stifling dissent, claiming the government’s actions threaten the future of the country’s youth and weaken democratic values.
