New Delhi: Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, has been deported from the United States to India. Anmol, the mastermind behind the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, was arrested at IGI Airport on November 19th by a special team of the NIA and Delhi Police. He was taken directly to Patiala House Court under tight security, where the court remanded him to custody.
Anmol had been wanted since 2022, hiding in the United States on a fake passport. He is accused in over 18 serious cases, including the murder of Baba Siddiqui, Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, the shooting at Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments, and online threats from abroad. He directed criminal activities and ran an extortion racket from abroad.
The court has granted gangster Anmol 11 days of custody to the NIA. This will provide the agency with crucial time to thoroughly investigate the gangster’s network, funding channels, and criminal activities originating from abroad. The agency had initially requested 15 days of custody. The NIA argued in court that Anmol had direct connections to 35 murder cases. After a lengthy hearing, the Patiala House Court granted the gangster 11 days of remand.
Anmol Bishnoi’s appearance in Patiala House Court was held in-camera, with only a limited number of people allowed in. The NIA told the court that custodial interrogation of Anmol is crucial, as evidence has been found against him related to more than 35 murders and more than 20 kidnappings, threats, and acts of violence.
The agency also stated that the discovery of two Indian passports in his possession indicates the use of forged documents. The NIA’s remand sheet contains detailed charges against Anmol. The agency believes that custodial interrogation will reveal the layers of his associates, financial network and the entire crime syndicate.
