Badrinath Temple Gates Open; CM Dhami Performs Worship in the Presence of Thousands of Devotees

Badrinath (Chamoli): The gates of the Badrinath Temple were opened for devotees’ darshan (sacred viewing) today at 6:15 AM. The auspicious occasion took place during the Vaishakh month, Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon), under the Punarvasu Nakshatra and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present to witness this sacred moment of the temple’s opening. Prior to this, on Wednesday, the Uddhav idol, the sacred oil vessel (Tel Kalash), and the Gaddi (seat) of Adi Guru Shankaracharya had already arrived at Badrinath Dham, while the Doli (palanquin) of Lord Kuber reached Bamni village for an overnight stay.

Temple Adorned with 25 Quintals of Flowers and Fruits
From the temple complex to the surrounding ancient monasteries and shrines, the entire area has been beautifully decorated with 25 quintals of orchids and marigolds, causing the whole region to come alive with vibrant splendor.

Ten Thousand Devotees Arrive
Even before the gates of the Badrinath Temple opened, crowds of devotees had begun gathering at various halts along the pilgrimage route, bringing a renewed sense of vibrancy to the entire region. So far, approximately 550 vehicles have arrived in Badrinath. It is estimated that over 10,000 devotees are currently present at the Dham to seek darshan of the Akhand Jyoti (eternal flame). At Badrinath Dham, devotees enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty alongside their spiritual experience.

Rituals Performed Prior to the Gate Opening
4:00 AM: Entry of Lord Kuber through the southern gate of Badrinath Temple (Badrivishal).
4:15 AM: Temple staff deployed to their respective duties.
5:30 AM: Entry of the Rawal (Head Priest), Dharmadhikari (Religious Official), and Vedpathis (Vedic Scholars)—accompanied by the Uddhav idol—into the temple.
5:40 AM: Dwar Pujan (Worship of the Gates) performed by the Rawal and Dharmadhikaris.
6:15 AM: Gates of Badrinath Dham opened for devotees.
11:00 AM onwards: Worship rituals for Lord Badrinath commence within the Garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum).
