Bhopal is becoming the hideout of drug mafias! The drug network spreads to Delhi-Haryana

Bhopal: Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, which was once known for its lakes and greenery, is now in the headlines with another identity “Drug den Udata Bhopal.” In the last 10 months, two big factories making MD drugs were caught here, whose roots were spread not only in Madhya Pradesh but also to Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

On 6 October 2024, Gujarat ATS and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted a joint raid and busted a drug factory in village Bagroda of Katara Hills area of ​​​​Bhopal. About 900 kg of MD drug was recovered from here, whose estimated value was Rs 1814 crore. In this case, Amit Chaturvedi of Bhopal, Sanyal Bane of Maharashtra, Hari Singh Anjana and Prem Sukh Patidar were arrested but the main conspirators Shoaib Lala, Omprakash Patidar and Ghanshyam Meena are still absconding.

After 11 months, another factory was busted. This time in Jagdishpur (Islamnagar), which is located on Berasia Road, 61.2 kg of mephedrone drug was recovered from a deserted house, which was said to be worth about Rs 92 crore. This action was taken by the team of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). The shocking thing was that the factory was just one kilometer away from a police station, but the police did not even get a clue about it. This house was bought by Vidisha resident Razzaq Khan through a broker and the neighbors were told that batteries would be manufactured here.

The factories were planned in such a way that their local supply is negligible, so that the eyes of the police can be avoided. The supply was directly sent to other states through highways. Two major operations in Bhopal were carried out by the central agencies (NCB, DRI, ATS). At the same time, the role of the local police was limited to the arrest of small smugglers only.

The factory found in Jagdishpur Islamnagar had links spread across the country. Investigation has revealed that the network of drug smugglers is spread across many states of the country. Two accused including a chemist from Bhopal used to prepare the drug while the raw material supply chain was monitored from Basti in UP. In the investigation, two chemical supplier accused have been arrested from Mumbai, while one accused has been arrested from Surat. This accused used to do the work of transferring funds. Another accused has been arrested from Mumbai who used to supply raw material to Bhopal.

Many more shocking revelations were also made in the recent drug smuggling case in the capital. Police investigation revealed that it was not limited to drug smuggling, but it has reached to trapping young women through DJ parties and blackmailing them through obscene videos. Bhopal Crime Branch has arrested Yasin Ahmed and Shahwar Ahmed, who are uncle-nephew, associated with this gang. Along with these two, two more accused Saifuddin and Shahrukh alias Ashu are also in police custody.

Police had found objectionable videos of more than 30 young women from Yasin Ahmed’s mobile phone. These videos were used to blackmail the young women and to physically exploit them. Yasin regularly organized DJ parties in the city’s clubs. In such parties, young people were made addicted to drugs. Then videos of young women in a state of intoxication were recorded and they were threatened. Investigation has revealed that Shahwar Ahmed has connections with Dubai and he has also invested money there.
