China assures Pakistan of help, both enemies of India have come together!

New Delhi: Chinese ambassador Jiang Zhidong said on Monday during a meeting with Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari that China will always support Pakistan to ensure peace and stability in South Asia. This meeting has taken place at a time when tensions between India and Pakistan are at their peak after the Pahalgam terror attack. According to Radio Pakistan’s report, the Chinese ambassador met President Zardari and discussed many issues including the growing tension between India and Pakistan.

During the meeting, Pakistani President Zardari expressed concern over the recent steps taken by India after the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He said that such steps can become a threat to regional peace and stability. Let us tell you that on April 22, 26 people, most of whom were tourists, were killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. After this incident, relations between India and Pakistan have become more tense.

India has recently imposed a ban on goods imported from and passing through Pakistan. Apart from this, Pakistani ships have also been banned from entering Indian ports. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India is committed to taking ‘strict and decisive’ action against terrorism and its supporters.

Earlier, India had taken several tough steps like suspending the Indus Water Treaty, closing the border at Attari and reducing diplomatic relations with Pakistan. According to Radio Pakistan, the Chinese ambassador described the long-standing trust and friendship between China and Pakistan as ‘strong like iron’ and said that both the countries have stood with each other in every difficult time.

The ambassador stressed that ‘China will always support Pakistan so that the common objective of the two countries, peace and stability in South Asia, can be fulfilled.’ On Thursday, the Chinese ambassador also met Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, where he expressed gratitude to China for supporting his proposal to conduct an impartial investigation into the Pahalgam attack.
