
New Delhi: A complaint has been filed against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court of Muzaffarpur district. The case relates to alleged derogatory remarks made by Rahul Gandhi regarding Chhath festival and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha filed the complaint in the court on Wednesday. The court accepted the case and set a hearing date for November 11, 2025.
Advocate Ojha stated that during a public meeting in Muzaffarpur as part of the Bihar Assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi made derogatory remarks regarding Chhath festival, a major Hindu festival. He also made indecent remarks about Prime Minister Modi, which hurt the religious sentiments of the people.
The complaint has been filed under sections 298, 356(2), 352, and 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 2023. Ojha stated that Chhath is a festival of our faith, and we have approached the court regarding the false statements and inappropriate comments against the Prime Minister. The court accepted the case and set a hearing date for November 11.
