Every Tamil Nadu MLA to Get a New Car: CM Vijay Announces Major Move to Boost Constituency Work

New Delhi: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has announced that all Members of the Legislative Assembly in the state will be provided with new cars to help them travel across their constituencies and address public concerns more effectively.

The decision was reportedly taken after VCK MLA Jothimani raised the issue of inadequate logistical support and the need for vehicles for legislators in the state Assembly. She argued that MLAs require proper transportation facilities to remain accessible to people and efficiently discharge their responsibilities.

New Vehicles to Strengthen Ground-Level Work
Explaining the government’s decision, Chief Minister Vijay said MLAs need to regularly visit their constituencies to understand and resolve issues faced by residents. Providing dedicated vehicles, he said, would make it easier for legislators to remain active on the ground and respond promptly to public grievances.

The government plans to provide new vehicles to all MLAs, enabling them to travel more efficiently, monitor development projects and interact directly with people in their respective constituencies.

Demand Raised in Assembly
The move follows MLA Jothimani’s demand for better logistical facilities for legislators. She had pointed out that the lack of adequate transportation could affect an MLA’s ability to regularly tour their constituency and attend to public issues.

Taking the demand into consideration, CM Vijay has decided to extend vehicle facilities to all MLAs. The government believes the initiative will strengthen constituency-level engagement and help legislators respond more quickly to public needs and development-related matters.

The announcement is expected to provide MLAs with greater logistical support and improve their ability to remain connected with people across Tamil Nadu.
