Father Kills Twin Daughters, Then Calls Police Himself; Wife Says: “He Was Suspicious of Me”

Kanpur: Following a heart-wrenching incident in Kanpur, the statement given by the accused’s wife has now further complicated the case. The wife, Reshma, has leveled several shocking allegations against her husband and has revealed details regarding the situation within their home. According to Reshma, their marriage took place in 2014 as a love marriage. She hails from Siliguri, West Bengal, while her husband is a native of Bihar. The couple met in Kanpur while working there. However, tensions began to surface in their relationship shortly after their marriage.

Reshma stated that her husband was frequently under the influence of alcohol and would physically abuse her. He also forbade her from visiting her maternal home; whenever she attempted to do so, she would be subjected to violence. The wife alleges that her husband repeatedly told her to take their son and leave, while insisting that he would keep both daughters with him.

A “Special” Room
The wife also revealed that the accused had installed several CCTV cameras inside the house, specifically in his own room. He did not allow anyone to enter that room. Reshma herself was not permitted to enter that specific room within her own home; instead, she would monitor the camera footage on a screen from the outside.

She recounted that there came a time when she took their son and returned to her maternal home, but she was not allowed to take her daughters with her. She returned approximately nine months later, as she found it unbearable to live without her daughters.

According to the wife, her husband would often say that he wished to die and intended to take both daughters with him. Describing the night of the incident, Reshma stated that everything appeared normal. The family ate dinner together, after which her husband took the daughters into his room to sleep. He continued talking on his phone for a considerable period—an activity his wife was observing via the CCTV feed.

Around 2:30 AM, he took one of his daughters to the bathroom and returned to the room a short while later. Subsequently, he switched off the lights in the room. His wife went to the door and window to listen for any movement or sounds, but everything remained silent. She assumed that everyone had fallen asleep. Consequently, she remained unaware of exactly when or how the incident took place. Currently, the police are investigating the matter and are continuing their efforts to uncover the true motive behind the incident.
