Hindu Grocery Merchant Murdered in Bangladesh Market, Sixth Such Incident in 18 Days

Dhaka: Incidents of violence against the minority Hindu community in Bangladesh continue to surface. The latest incident occurred in Narsingdi district, where grocery merchant Mani Chakraborty was murdered by assailants. The incident reportedly took place on Monday night around 8 PM.

According to reports, Mani Chakraborty ran a grocery store in Charsindur market, located in the Palash Upazila area of ​​Narsingdi. He was a resident of Sadhar Char Union, Shibpur Upazila, and the son of Madan Thakur. According to local sources, Mani Chakraborty was sitting in his shop as usual when unknown assailants suddenly attacked him. He was seriously injured in the attack.


  • Following the incident, locals rushed to the scene and tried to take Mani Chakraborty to the hospital, but he died on the way.

    The incident has created an atmosphere of fear throughout the area. Local traders say that Mani Chakraborty was a quiet and gentle person and, to their knowledge, had no disputes with anyone. This brutal murder in a public market has further deepened the sense of insecurity among traders and the general public.

    Concerned members of the local community have expressed serious concern over the incident. They stated that the public murder of a trader from the minority Hindu community is extremely worrying. They have demanded that the administration arrest the attackers as soon as possible.
