New Delhi: Iran’s Deputy Ambassador to India Mohammad Javad Hussaini has taken a tough stand against Israel and has appealed to India to openly condemn Israel and put pressure on it. He said that big and peace-loving countries like India, which are the voice of the global south, should play a leading role by criticizing Israel.
Mohammad Javad Hussaini said that if Israel had been condemned globally during the attacks launched against Hamas in October, it would never have dared to attack a sovereign country like Iran. Hussaini also questioned the impartiality of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), saying that the IAEA itself had said that there was no military nuclear activity going on from Iran’s side. Yet they took Israel’s side and supported military action against Iran. This has raised questions on the credibility of the IAEA.
Hussaini clearly said that nuclear weapons have no place in Iran’s defense policy and the country does not need them for its security. He said that nuclear weapons are not part of our defense policy. We can protect ourselves, we do not need nuclear weapons. The allegations that Iran is enriching uranium for weapons are completely false. He further said that these allegations are actually an attempt to achieve another agenda. He also said that now these people are openly talking about regime change, it seems that this is their real motive.
On a journalist’s question that will the US use Pakistan’s land after the Pakistani Army Chief’s visit to America? On this, Hussaini expressed hope that Pakistan will not be involved in any such move and will support Iran against Israeli attacks. Hussaini said that we have some such capabilities which have not been revealed till now. We have saved them for the future. Therefore it would be better if no one tries to endanger this region.
