New Delhi: Addressing the nation after the success of Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, PM Modi said that Operation Sindoor is an unbroken pledge of justice. Taking the nation into confidence in his address, PM Modi said that today every terrorist, every terror organization knows what is the consequence of removing the vermilion from the forehead of our sisters and daughters. Praising the military power of the country, the Prime Minister said that ‘the world saw how Pakistan’s drones and missiles scattered like straws in front of India. India’s strong air defense system destroyed them in the sky itself.’
PM Modi’s address has received prominent coverage in the world media. The Washington Post, a newspaper published from America, has also given prominence to the news of PM Modi’s address. The newspaper has written that India has only stopped its military action and if there is any terrorist attack on the country in the future, it will respond on its own terms. The Washington Post has printed PM Modi’s statement where he said that if there will be any talks with Pakistan now, it will be on terrorism and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. It is worth noting that PM Modi has said that terrorism and talks cannot go together with Pakistan. The newspaper has written that PM Modi did not accept US President Donald Trump’s offer of mediation.
The Japan Times has written in an article that PM Modi neither mentioned the US in his speech nor gave President Trump credit for the ceasefire. The Japan Times writes, “On Monday, Modi did not mention the US for the ceasefire nor gave Trump credit. Instead, he said that Pakistan urged the world to reduce tensions after the Indian Army struck it on the “chest”. Therefore, when Pakistan appealed and said that it would not engage in any further terrorist activities or military misadventure, India considered it.” The Japan Times has also underlined the PM’s statement in which he also said that India will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail.
The newspaper has given space to the statement of PM Modi as well as the statement of US President Donald Trump in which he said that America has stopped the nuclear clash between the two countries. The Guardian has given prominence to the statement of PM Modi where he said that India has only “stopped” its military action against Pakistan and will “respond on its own terms” to any attack. The newspaper has claimed that on Monday, Pakistani security officials said that one of the conditions of the ceasefire is the agreement that future talks will be held in a third country, in which the United Arab Emirates has been mentioned as a possible place. However, no such statement has come from India.
Pakistan’s media agency Sama TV has written on its website that PM Modi has once again threatened Pakistan with war. It is written in this article that, “Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again increased regional tensions by making aggressive comments against Pakistan, threatening war and imposing harsh conditions on any possible future talks between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.” Samaa TV wrote that, ‘Prime Minister Modi rejected the idea of a comprehensive peace dialogue, saying, “Dialogue and terrorism cannot go together. Trade and terrorism cannot go together. Water and blood cannot flow together.” He further stressed that India will respond to any provocation in the future on its own terms and India will not tolerate Pakistan’s “nuclear blackmail”.
