New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has revealed the name of his favorite leader in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and his answer has caught considerable attention on social media.

During an “Ask Me Anything” session on Instagram, a user asked Rahul Gandhi a rather unexpected question: “Who is your favorite politician from the BJP?”

Rahul responded with a video and named former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

Who is Captain Amarinder Singh?

Captain Amarinder Singh has served as the Chief Minister of Punjab twice. He was a longtime Congress leader but left the party in 2021 following differences with the Congress leadership.

After resigning as Punjab Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh launched the Punjab Lok Congress on October 27, 2021. He subsequently joined the BJP on September 19, 2022, after merging his party with the BJP.

Rahul Gandhi’s choice of Amarinder Singh is particularly notable given the political history between the two leaders and the upcoming political activity in Punjab.
