New Delhi. Oil companies have announced a significant hike in the prices of 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinders. According to the new rates, the price of a commercial cylinder in Delhi has risen by ₹42, bringing the cost to ₹3,113.50. Meanwhile, in Kolkata, the price has increased by ₹53.50, reaching ₹3,255.50. These changes will come into effect on June 1st, potentially placing an additional burden on hotels, restaurants, dhabas, and other commercial consumers. However, there has been no change in the prices of cylinders intended for domestic use.
The rates for the 19-kilogram gas cylinders used for commercial purposes have seen varying degrees of increase across major metropolitan cities. While consumers in Delhi will now have to pay an additional ₹42 per cylinder, businesses in Kolkata will face a higher financial burden of ₹53.50; consequently, commercial LPG prices in both cities have reached record-high levels. This hike in commercial cylinder prices comes at a time when businesses are already grappling with rising fuel and transportation costs.
Furthermore, oil marketing companies have also raised the price of the 5-kilogram FTL (Free Trade LPG) cylinders—typically used by small traders and individual citizens—by ₹11. Following this hike, these smaller cylinders will now be available in Delhi at a new rate of ₹821.50. The only silver lining is that there has been no change this time around in the prices of the 14.2-kilogram domestic gas cylinders used in households.
Prices Rising Continuously Since January
It is worth noting that the prices of commercial cylinders have been on a continuous upward trajectory since the beginning of 2026. In January, the price of a 19-kilogram commercial cylinder in Delhi stood at ₹1,691.50. Prices per cylinder were hiked by ₹49 in February, ₹115 in March, ₹195.50 in April, and a staggering ₹993 in May. Following repeated price revisions over the past six months, the price of a commercial cylinder in Delhi has now reached ₹3,113.50.
