Rohtas: A shocking incident has come to light in Rohtas district, Bihar, where a young woman attempted to kidnap herself and frame her own family members. The incident took place in Maneri Bigha village, under the Dalmianagar police station area of ​​Dehri. After a police investigation revealed the entire incident, the young woman was recovered from the Dehri-on-Sone railway station.

Left for College and Never Returned
According to reports, the daughter of Santosh Mahato, a resident of Maneri Bigha, left home for college on April 28, 2026, but did not return until late in the evening. The family searched for her extensively, but found no trace of her. Subsequently, the family contacted the police and reported her missing.


  • Message from the girl’s mobile
    Meanwhile, on April 29, a WhatsApp message was received by the family from the young woman’s mobile number. The message claimed that she had been kidnapped and was being held hostage somewhere in Sasaram. The family was alarmed after receiving the message, and the police took the matter seriously and launched an investigation.

    The police formed a special team to search for the girl. The initial investigation yielded no clear clues, but technical investigations and persistent searches pinpointed her location near the Dehri-on-Sone railway station. Subsequently, the police took action and safely recovered her from the station premises.

    “They used to restrict her and she had no freedom.”
    Dehri ASP Atulesh Jha stated that during interrogation, the girl admitted that she had fabricated the kidnapping story. She stated that her family members imposed numerous restrictions on her, restricting her, and that she had no freedom at home. She felt mentally harassed and decided to run away from home because of this. She also wanted to implicate her family members.
