New Delhi. A jet plane crash in Florida, USA, has left everyone shaken. All 9 people on board the aircraft lost their lives; they burned to death in the fire that erupted following the crash. The footage that has emerged of the incident is truly horrific and terrifying. It shows the plane plummeting toward the road at high speed—much like a missile—before exploding. The video of the incident is now going viral.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis visited the scene. He remarked that the plane appeared to fall from the sky like a missile. The impact was so violent that it created a large crater by the side of the road, and debris from the aircraft was scattered over a wide area.
Debris scattered at the scene
The harrowing incident was also captured by people in cars traveling along the road. The footage shows the aircraft descending rapidly from the sky and erupting into a fireball the moment it strikes the ground. Debris was strewn across the road, and a large crater was left behind, with plumes of black smoke filling the air.
US Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy has confirmed the incident. According to him, the ‘Learjet 60’ aircraft was en route from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is dispatching a team to assist the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which is investigating the cause of the crash. There were 9 people on board the aircraft.
On Sunday, the plane plummeted directly to the ground in an area of South Florida. A powerful explosion occurred the moment the aircraft struck the ground. It narrowly missed hitting any houses, crashing instead near a busy road. The impact ignited a fire on the road and left a large crater.
Bad weather, turbulence, and ‘Mayday’
According to air traffic control recordings and flight tracking data, the aircraft was flying eastward at an altitude of approximately 35,000 feet. During this time, the pilot reported adverse weather conditions, the accumulation of ice on the aircraft, and severe turbulence. The pilot requested permission from air traffic control to climb an additional 2,000 feet. He noted that a thin, transparent layer of ice was forming on the aircraft and that there was some turbulence. Shortly thereafter, the situation began to deteriorate rapidly.
‘We are about to hit the ground’ — the pilot’s final message
According to the recordings, the aircraft suddenly began to lose altitude at an alarming rate—initially at 10,000 feet per minute, then 20,000 feet per minute, and eventually 30,000 feet per minute. During this descent, the aircraft’s speed exceeded its design limits. The pilot transmitted an emergency message, stating that the plane was descending at an extremely high speed.
He then issued a ‘Mayday, Mayday’ call, requesting assistance. In his final radio transmission, the pilot warned that the aircraft was about to strike the ground. Moments later, the plane veered sharply to the right and crashed into the ground.
