Woman raped in hotel after being lured with the promise of meeting Premanand Maharaj

Mathura: A shocking case of deception and brutality in the name of faith has come to light in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. A man living in Radha Niwas in Vrindavan raped a woman from Agra by luring her with the promise of a personal meeting with spiritual guru Premanand Maharaj. Based on the woman’s complaint, the accused, Sundaram Rajput, has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.

Police station in-charge Sanjay Pandey stated that the incident occurred on September 12th. The victim is a spiritual woman and a follower of Vrindavan’s renowned saint, Premanand Ji Maharaj. She met the accused, Sundaram Rajput, on social media. They became friends after chatting. The accused told the victim that he was one of Maharaj’s devotees and could arrange a personal meeting with him.

On August 10th, Sundaram sent her a message saying he would arrange a direct darshan for her. Nearly a month later, on September 12th, he informed the woman that the meeting had been arranged. The woman, along with her brother, reached Vrindavan. The accused told her that the saint’s ashram was ahead and vehicles were not allowed there, so her brother should wait with the car in the parking lot.

He took the woman on his motorcycle. Instead of the ashram, he took her to a hotel called Radhakrishna Dham. There, he ordered coffee and laced it with intoxicants. After drinking the coffee, the woman fell unconscious. The accused then raped her, made objectionable videos, and began blackmailing her with threats of making the videos viral.

Threatening to make the obscene videos viral, the accused repeatedly subjected the victim to his lust. The woman, distressed by this incident, filed a complaint at the police station three days ago. Based on her complaint, the police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The accused’s location was tracked based on digital evidence.

After receiving information on Saturday afternoon, the police arrested Sundaram from Devraha Baba Ghat Road. He was produced in court, where he was remanded to judicial custody. Police are now gathering digital evidence related to the incident. The process of recovering video and chat recordings made by the accused is underway. A thorough investigation is underway.
