New Delhi: India has now adopted a new and concrete policy to deal with cross-border terrorism. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said during a community event in New York that now no person involved in terrorism will escape punishment. An all-party parliamentary delegation led by Shashi Tharoor left for Guyana via this US city. AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi in Manama said that Pakistan is an aggressor, not a victim. For many years, terrorists aided and trained by Pakistan have been carrying out attacks in India, killing many innocent people.

Meanwhile, another delegation met the country’s Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in Bahrain and conveyed India’s tough stand on the threat of cross-border terrorism looming on India.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed support
Appreciating the efforts of these all-party delegations, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said on the eve, “India is united on the policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. A collective voice is giving a strong message of fighting terrorism.”

To bring this policy of India to the global level, separate Indian delegations also met the politicians of the respective countries in South Korea and Slovenia and shared India’s zero tolerance policy in the context of the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack.

Tharoor put India’s side in America
While talking to the leaders of the Indian-American community on Saturday, Shashi Tharoor said, “India has given a clear message to Pakistan that we have not started anything, we are only giving a message to the terrorists. Now no one should think that they can sit in Pakistan and kill the citizens of India and get away with it. Pakistan wants to grab India’s land, and when it is unable to do so through traditional methods, it resorts to terrorism. This is unacceptable.”

Visit to 9/11 Memorial in New York
The delegation also visited the 9/11 Memorial in New York. Tharoor described it as a visit undertaken in the spirit of solidarity and said that it is also a message that we stand in the city which witnessed a horrific terrorist attack. In the same backdrop when India too recently witnessed a brutal attack.

Warm welcome in Guyana
The delegation was warmly welcomed in Guyana. Underlining India’s clear and tough policy against terrorism, the Indian Embassy wrote, ‘India is firm and united against terrorism.’

Tharoor said that the delegation will attend the President’s midnight speech on the eve of Guyana’s 59th Independence Day.

India’s message resonated in Bahrain
In Manama, the delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Jai Panda met several top leaders including Bahrain’s Deputy Prime Minister and reiterated India’s resolve against terrorism. India’s values of tolerance and harmony were discussed in the dialogue session held at the King Hamad Global Center for Co-existence and Tolerance.

Shared message of Owaisi and other leaders
AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi in Manama said that Pakistan is an aggressor, not a victim. For many years, terrorists aided and trained by Pakistan have been carrying out attacks in India, killing many innocent people. In December 2023, India had demanded the United Nations Security Council to ban ‘TRF’ as this organization could carry out a major incident in India. Pakistan’s involvement is also proved by the fact that TRF accepted responsibility twice after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, and Indian cyber experts also found that the video of the attack was uploaded on the Internet from near the Pakistani military cantonment.

India’s stand was also shared in Seoul and Slovenia
The delegation led by JDU MP Sanjay Jha in South Korea interacted with the Indian expatriate community and shared information about ‘Operation Sindoor’, which was launched after the recent Pahalgam attack. India’s tough policy was emphasized by meeting Indian Ambassador Amit Kumar and Korean MPs in Seoul.
TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee said that the dialogue considered strengthening peace, regional stability and multilateral efforts against terrorism.

The delegation also reached Qatar and Slovenia
In Qatar, the delegation led by NCP MP Supriya Sule met the Deputy Chairman of Qatar’s Shura Council and other MPs. The Indian Embassy said on X that Qatar also reiterated its zero tolerance policy against terrorism. In Slovenia, the delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi reached with India’s message.

Described the Indian diaspora as a ‘force multiplier’
All the delegations termed the Indian diaspora community as ‘strength enhancer’ and appealed to them to contribute to sensitizing public opinion and political thinking about India’s anti-terrorism policy in their countries. These delegations are among the seven multiparty groups that the Government of India has sent to 33 global capitals to make the world aware of Pakistan’s terrorist conspiracies and India’s strict response.
