
New Delhi. Excavation was going on for water drainage in Barheti village of Quarsi Police Station Area of Aligarh district. During this, gold coins came out of the ground. This matter came to light when some laborers were laying a pipeline for water drainage. When the pit was dug, suddenly the laborers saw shining old coins, which a crowd of villagers gathered to see.
As soon as this information spread in the village, people from nearby areas reached the spot and some people also kept the coins with themselves. A huge crowd gathered at the spot. According to the local people, these coins seem to be historical and were buried in the ground for a long time. Information about a total of 11 coins coming out during the excavation has come to the fore.
After receiving information about the incident, the Quarsi Station Incharge (SHO) reached the spot with his team. The police recovered 11 gold coins from the spot, which were confiscated. The police took the coins into their possession after sealing them. The police say that this matter may be archaeological. It will be investigated under the supervision of the administrative and archaeological department.
On the other hand, regarding this matter, the local people say that during the excavation, not only 11 coins, but other objects have also come out, which some people kept with themselves. However, the police have appealed to the people to hand over whatever coins or objects they have to the administration, so that it can be properly investigated.
The people living in Barheti village are excited and worried about this incident. Some people believe that more historical heritage may be hidden under the land of the village. At present, the police have increased surveillance of the entire area and the excavation work has been stopped. The administration is investigating which period these coins belong to and what their historical significance may be. At present, discussions are rife in the village about this incident.
