We lost India and Russia…Trump is burning in the fire of remorse

September 05, 2025

New Delhi: US President Donald Trump, who was spewing venom against India till now, is now burning in the fire of remorse. He wrote on the social media platform Truth that I think we have lost India and Russia. Both the countries have now embarked on the path of China. This statement of Trump says a lot. It is clear from his words that the fear of losing India has started haunting him. Why has this situation come to this and why does Trump feel that India is moving away from him.

Before this irony of Trump, let us talk about how he himself laid thorns in the path of India and forced it to change its path. If we talk about the period before January, then India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had supported Trump. During the elections, people had also performed havan and yagya at many places in India. It was expected that after Trump’s victory, India’s relations with America would become stronger. But, immediately after assuming the presidency on January 20, he started spewing venom against India. The situation reached such a point that he imposed a 50 percent tariff on India only, leaving the whole world.

America first talked about imposing a 25 percent tariff on India and implemented it from August 7. During this time, the ongoing trade deal between the two countries was also deliberately stalled by imposing unnecessary conditions. America knew very well that India would never accept its dairy product, despite this it stuck to the point that until India does not accept it, a trade deal will not be done with it. In this way, the deal was stalled midway and a 25 percent tariff was imposed from August 7. Even after this, Trump was not satisfied and accusing India of supporting Russia, he imposed another 25 percent tariff from August 27. This is much more than the tariff imposed on any other country.

Now that America, especially Trump, did not treat India with any courtesy and imposed tariffs on it without any reason, India had no choice but to look for alternatives. India is a part of two big organizations in which America is not a part and both these organizations included Russia and China. Earlier, from the beginning of 2025, China had stopped the supply of many essential chemicals and raw materials to India, then it had hope from America. When problems arose from America too, India was forced to go back to China.

Donald Trump got the biggest shock when China started supplying rare earth and other essential equipment and chemicals to India again. India also found it appropriate to adjust with the world’s second largest economy. This is the reason why PM Modi visited China after 5 years and participated in the recently concluded SCO summit. Russia was also a part of this summit. After the summit, a joint letter was also issued in which the member countries agreed to trade in local currency and distance themselves from the dollar.

Before the SCO summit in China, Trump was upset when Jinping, Modi and Putin came together on one platform during the BRICS conference in Brazil. He had openly said that if these countries tried to weaken the dollar, 100 percent tariff would be imposed. Now when India started strengthening its relations with Russia and China in a balanced amount without giving any reaction, Trump felt that perhaps India is moving away from him.

Trump organized a dinner with all the tech giants at the White House on Thursday. Along with Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella, Apple CEO Tim Cook was also present. During this, Trump asked Cook how much he would invest in America, to which he replied $600 billion. Then he asked what is the plan for India. Here Trump wanted to hear that Apple would end its business in India, but Cook replied that he wants to do 25% of its total production in India. This was a setback for Trump and also a compulsion for American companies to join India.
