“I was nursing a burn injury, yet faced disciplinary action—it’s appalling…” PMCH Principal speaks out against Nishant’s move

Patna: The Principal of PMCH, Patna, who faced disciplinary action from Health Minister Nishant Kumar, spoke to express his protest against the move. Principal Narendra Pratap Singh stated that he had sustained burn injuries the day before the inspection—injuries he even displayed on camera.

The Principal remarked that the action was taken without issuing a show-cause notice. “I cannot work in such a department, which is why I have resigned,” he said. “I did not expect this from Nishant Kumar; now, I place my trust solely in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Samrat Choudhary. I had suffered a burn injury the day before Nishant arrived for the inspection. The Secretary and the Superintendent were aware of this, yet the action was taken regardless—it is unfortunate.”

Principal Narendra Pratap Singh expressed his deep resentment towards this authoritarian attitude. “I have worked under the government led by Nishant’s father as well, but such actions were never taken then. The manner in which action was taken against me has hurt my self-respect. No one would work at the cost of their self-respect. I also urge members of the medical association to protest against such actions.”

It is worth noting that recently, Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar removed the PMCH Principal from his post because he was not present during a surprise inspection. Hurt by this action, the Principal has tendered his resignation.
