Lucknow: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) national president and Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has launched a fresh attack on Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, questioning the strength of the party’s much-publicised PDA strategy.
In a post on X, Rajbhar said Akhilesh Yadav should stop focusing on the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and instead concentrate on “saving the SP” before then. He claimed that sections of the communities the SP seeks to represent through its PDA strategy are increasingly distancing themselves from the party.
Taking a sarcastic swipe at the PDA formula, Rajbhar alleged that the party was losing support among Brahmins, backward classes and Dalits. He also claimed that members of the Dalit and non-Yadav OBC communities had begun openly questioning the SP’s political strategy.
Rajbhar cited an incident at the Saharanpur Circuit House to support his allegations. According to him, Dalit Zila Panchayat member Mamta Chaudhary strongly confronted SP leaders during a meeting, while party workers from Dalit and non-Yadav backward communities also voiced their dissatisfaction.
The SBSP chief further targeted Akhilesh over the conduct of SP workers during a press conference. Referring to an alleged dispute over chairs at the Saharanpur Circuit House, Rajbhar mocked the SP leadership and questioned the conduct of party workers.
He also accused SP workers of misbehaving with journalists and alleged incidents of verbal abuse and physical confrontation. Rajbhar used the episode to argue that the SP leadership needs to focus on managing its own organisation rather than preparing for the next Assembly election.
Concluding his post, Rajbhar took another dig at Akhilesh Yadav, saying that the “key to power” was currently out of reach and advising the SP chief to concentrate on strengthening and saving his party first.
The latest remarks underline the continuing political confrontation between Rajbhar and Akhilesh Yadav as Uttar Pradesh parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
