
Lucknow: A significant development has emerged regarding the Ram Mandir donation issue. The impact of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s stern stance is clearly visible. Two members of the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, Champat Rai and Anil Mishra, have resigned. This major decision follows strong recommendations made in the SIT’s preliminary report. Based on the SIT’s recommendation, the first FIR in the case has already been registered. The resignations are being viewed in the context of the actions taken during the investigation.
According to sources, this development follows Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s strict stance and the SIT’s preliminary investigation report. Prior to this, the first FIR in the matter was registered based on a complaint by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Eight individuals have been named in the FIR, while the roles of several other unidentified persons are also being investigated.
The SIT is currently probing alleged financial irregularities. The investigating agency is examining the bank accounts, assets, mobile records, and alleged transactions of the accused. Sources state that the SIT’s preliminary report contained some stringent recommendations, which subsequently accelerated the pace of the investigation.
In this context, the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra are also being linked to the investigation. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already signaled his intent for a transparent and impartial probe into the matter. The government has stated that if irregularities are uncovered or accountability is established at any level during the investigation, action will be taken against the concerned individuals in accordance with the law.
For now, answers to several questions regarding this entire matter remain pending. Will the SIT’s final report reveal further major disclosures? Will the scope of the investigation expand? And will there be changes in the Trust’s functioning? Answers to these questions will emerge as the investigation progresses in the coming days.
Case Registered Against 8 People Regarding Temple Offerings
A significant step was taken on Thursday amidst the investigation into alleged irregularities concerning offerings at the Ram Mandir. A case has been registered at the Ram Janmabhoomi police station against eight individuals following a complaint by Krishna Mohan, a trustee of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The FIR names Ram Shankar Yadav (alias Tinu), Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Karunesh Pandey, Avinash Shukla, Manish Yadav, Ramashankar Mishra, and Subhash Chandra Srivastava.
Charges filed against them include embezzlement, fraud, and criminal conspiracy. According to sources, this action was taken after the SIT’s preliminary report was submitted to the Additional Chief Secretary (Home). The police have arrested four of the accused so far, while efforts to locate the others are underway.
Complaint filed by Trust member Krishna Mohan
The complaint regarding this matter was lodged by Krishna Mohan, who was appointed as a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in September 2025. He was selected to replace Trustee Kameshwar Chaupal following the latter’s demise in February 2025. A native of Hardoi, Krishna Mohan completed his M.Sc. from Lucknow University in the 1970s. He subsequently worked in the nuclear energy sector for approximately six years before being selected for the Indian Forest Service, where he served in the Maharashtra cadre. Since retiring in 2012, he has been actively involved in social work.
