New Delhi. Tragic news has emerged from the Bahamas, a nation in the Caribbean islands. A small plane crashed there on Friday, resulting in the tragic deaths of all 10 people on board. This horrific accident occurred while the entire country was celebrating its 53rd Independence Day.
Following this major tragedy, the government has taken a firm stance and temporarily suspended all flights operated by ‘Flamingo Air.’ The crash took place near North Andros, west of the capital, Nassau.
Bahamas Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis initially reported that one person had survived the crash; however, he later confirmed during a press conference that the injured individual had also succumbed to their severe injuries. The official identities of all 10 victims have not yet been released.
Expressing his condolences, Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis said, “Today, we gather under a shadow of deep sorrow. While the nation was immersed in celebrating the anniversary of its independence, the day has suddenly turned into one of profound mourning. We extend our deepest sympathies to every family that has received the devastating news that their loved one will never return home.”
In an official statement, the Bahamas’ Air Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA) revealed that the crashed aircraft was a Cessna 402 registered in the Bahamas. The plane had taken off from Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau and was en route to San Andros but met with the accident before reaching its destination.
