The army of the largest Muslim country will parade on Republic Day

New Delhi: President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, will be present in India as the chief guest on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day. Subianto had canceled his visit to Pakistan due to India’s proposal. For the first time, a contingent of the Indonesian army will also march on the path of duty. It is also worth noting that on the occasion of the first Republic Day, Indonesia’s President Sukarno was the chief guest. So far, three presidents have been present as the chief guest on Republic Day. His visit to India is also special because there is a possibility of deals on many issues including energy security, health security and defense sector.

In recent years, the strategic relations between India and Indonesia have become very strong. The cooperation between the two countries has also increased through the G20 and Indus-Australia-Indonesia Group. This is Prabowo Subianto’s first visit to India as President. Earlier, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in 2011 and Joko Widodo in 2018 have also been the chief guests of the Republic Day.

According to officials, this visit of Subianto to India is very important. Many agreements can be signed between the two countries regarding food security, energy security, health security, defense cooperation. Before attending the Republic Day celebrations, Subianto and PM Modi will meet on Saturday itself. The two leaders can discuss issues including digital technology, health, security. At the same time, many agreements can also be signed.

Indonesia is also among those countries that want to buy Brahmos missile from India. Experts say that talks are going on between the two countries regarding Brahmos. Apart from this, Indonesia needs 1 lakh 60 thousand doctors and nurses for which it wants help from India. This time a contingent of 52 soldiers of the Indonesian Army will also be seen parading on the path of duty.

In 2018 also, there were agreements on the issues between the two countries. At the same time, both the countries also came together for peace in the Indo-Pacific region. Indonesia is also a part of India’s Act East Policy. Indonesia’s name is also included in the largest trade partners in Asia.

In 2023-24, trade between the two countries was more than $ 29 billion. At the same time, India is also making big investments in manufacturing, energy, textiles, steel, automobile and mining sectors in Indonesia. Both the countries also had agreements regarding military exercises in 2018. Apart from this, India is also a big partner of Indonesia in the field of space science.
