Chandigarh. Bollywood actor Sonu Sood’s troubles have increased. The reason is, a Ludhiana court has issued an arrest warrant against him on Thursday for avoiding testifying in a fraud case. In fact, Sood was issued a summons in connection with a case filed by Ludhiana lawyer Rajesh Khanna, in which a person named Mohit Shukla was accused of fraud of Rs 10 lakh.
Lawyer Khanna had alleged that Shukla had lured him to invest in fake Rijika coins. Actor Sonu Sood had to testify in this case. Actor Sood, who recently did the film Fateh, was repeatedly issued summons, but he did not pay any attention to them, due to which the court issued an arrest warrant against him.
Ludhiana Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur has issued the warrant. The warrant has been sent to Oshiwara police station in Andheri West, Mumbai, directing them to arrest the actor and produce him before the court.
The magistrate’s court order said, “Sonu Sood has been duly served with the summons or warrant but he has failed to appear in court (absconded and fled for the purpose of evading service of summons or warrant). You are ordered to arrest Sonu Sood and produce him before the court.”
The order further reads, “You are directed to return this warrant on or before 10-02-2025 with an endorsement certifying the date and manner in which it has been executed, or why it has not been executed.”
The next hearing of the case will be on February 10.
