According to the information, the fire was brought under control after several hours of hard work. According to Iranian media, at least one employee has died in this accident and many others have been injured. According to reports, the fire has not hindered the operation of the refinery.
Iran’s Deputy Parliament Speaker Ali Nikzad said that many employees have also been injured due to the fire in the oil refinery. He said that the fire broke out in one unit of the oil refinery, so the damage is not much. However, the unit has been burnt to ashes. Abadan Oil Refinery is Iran’s largest and oldest oil refinery.
How important is this oil refinery for Iran
Abadan oil refinery is about 670 kilometers away from the capital Tehran. It was started in 1912. This largest refinery of the Islamic Republic refines about 52 lakh barrels of oil every day, which is 25 percent of the country’s total oil production.
In the last one week, many residential and commercial buildings have caught fire in Iran. The administration says that these incidents are happening due to gas leaks and short circuits.
