Change: Now you will be able to transact up to Rs 10 lakh in a day through UPI!

September 15, 2025

New Delhi: The National Payments Corporation of India had announced an increase in the limit of UPI transactions in several categories, which is going to be effective from today. Taking a big step towards making high value digital transactions easier through Unified Payment Interface, NPCI has increased the transaction limit to Rs 10 lakh. These important changes in the rules of UPI payment are coming into effect from 15 September 2025. After this, now up to Rs 10 lakh can be paid daily in insurance, capital market, loan EMI and travel categories.

Relief for these UPI users
This change in UPI payment will be effective on person-to-merchant payments. This means that an increased limit will be applicable on payments to shopkeepers or businessmen and under this, a maximum of Rs 5 lakh can be made in some categories, and a maximum of Rs 10 lakh in some.

This change in UPI payment limit by NPCI is especially a relief for such UPI users, who earlier had to make not one but several transactions or resort to alternative banking channels to make large payments. After this change, they will be able to easily make high value transactions.
