
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is continuously working for the public good. As a result of these efforts, the state’s farmers have received significant relief and several important approvals from the Central Government. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav met with several Union Ministers, including Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in New Delhi. During this meeting, he prominently raised several important issues related to the state’s farmers and rural development.
The Central Government also took positive decisions on these issues. State Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel and senior officials were also present at the meeting. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav detailed the problems faced by the state’s farmers and pending agricultural issues, urging their prompt resolution. Following the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh’s progress is satisfactory. He added that the ongoing Gulf War is being monitored globally. He added that the state has stopped the black marketing of gas and has made adequate arrangements for LPG and CNG in the state.
At the request of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Central Government took a significant decision regarding mustard procurement. Union Agriculture Minister Chouhan approved Madhya Pradesh’s proposal under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana and directed the concerned departments to expedite the payment process. This will directly benefit thousands of mustard-producing farmers in the state. During the meeting, Union Minister Chouhan also presented Chief Minister Yadav with an approval letter for 100% government procurement of tur (pigeon pea). Thanks to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s efforts, tur-producing farmers will now be assured of government procurement of their entire produce, reducing the risk of market price declines.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the need to make the state a leading center for pulses and oilseeds production. A joint central and state team agreed to develop a long-term strategy for crops such as mung bean, urad, gram, sesame, mustard, and oil palm. During the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also raised the issue of better protection of farmers’ interests under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Following this, the Union Minister directed that both crop cutting and remote sensing methods be used in the assessment of crops like soybean, instead of just satellite data, so that farmers can receive compensation based on actual losses.
Issues related to MNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana were also discussed in the meeting. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav requested necessary support for rapid development work in the rural areas of the state, to which the central government gave positive assurances. He stated that the central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to the interests of farmers. In Madhya Pradesh, the state government is continuously working to increase farmers’ income and accelerate rural development, celebrating the year 2026 as the Farmer Welfare Year. These decisions are considered a major result of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s efforts, which will provide significant benefits to the farmers of Madhya Pradesh and strengthen the agricultural sector.
After the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that today, discussions were held with the central government regarding the state government’s work, progress, and plans. Discussions were held with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan regarding the work of the Panchayat Rural Development and Agriculture Ministry. Several schemes are being implemented to double farmers’ income. The state government has successfully implemented the Bhavantar Yojana. We discussed with Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan that mustard also benefit from the Bhavantar Yojana. The state government will promote pulses from the state, and the central government will also procure them. We also discussed increasing the acreage of oilseeds.
We also discussed with the central government the quotas for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana. A grand event for agricultural scientists was also discussed with central officials. We have launched a campaign in the state to increase farmers’ income, which was also discussed with the central government. Discussions were also held with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman regarding the state’s financial situation. We discussed various topics, including the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Civil Supplies Corporation, timely payments to the state government, and Simhastha. I am satisfied that Madhya Pradesh has achieved the number one position in the country in areas such as finance, agriculture, water resources, and infrastructure. Our progress is satisfactory. The Jal Shakti Ministry is going to provide an amount of Rs 1 lakh crore each for the Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh river linking projects. This topic was also reviewed in the meeting.
The agreement between the Gujarat and Maharashtra governments, which was in place from 1974 to 2024, was reviewed and discussed in detail. I am proud that Madhya Pradesh is the fastest working state in the Tap Water Scheme. The state government is moving in tandem with the central government for development. The Gulf War taking place globally is being monitored. We have stopped the black marketing of gas in the state. We have made adequate arrangements for LPG and CNG in the state.
