Claim of Attack on Coast Guard Camp in Pakistan’s Balochistan; BLA Says Over 30 Security Personnel Killed

July 04, 2026

New Delhi. A major attack has been reported on a Pakistan Coast Guards camp in the Jiwani area of Gwadar district, located in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed that its fighters targeted the camp in a suicide attack, resulting in the deaths of over 30 security personnel and injuries to many others. However, Pakistani officials have not yet confirmed this claim, and there has been no independent verification of the incident.

According to a report by The Balochistan Post, a statement issued in the name of the organization’s spokesperson, Jeeyand Baloch, stated that the attack was carried out by the BLA’s special unit, the Majeed Brigade. The organization stated that the operation targeted a Pakistan Coast Guards military facility located in the Panwan area of Jiwani.

  • The BLA claims that its fighters first entered the security complex and subsequently launched a suicide attack. Describing it as part of their long-running campaign, the organization termed the operation a ‘Fidayeen’ attack.

Gwadar district is considered strategically vital due to the operation of a port project developed with Chinese assistance. Consequently, the region has long been a focal point of tension between security agencies and militant groups.

Militant groups active in Balochistan have been targeting security forces, government installations, and infrastructure projects for several years. These organizations demand greater autonomy for the province and local control over its natural resources.

It is noteworthy that the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has been designated as a terrorist organization by several countries, including Pakistan. The group has previously claimed responsibility for numerous major attacks and suicide bombings targeting security installations in Balochistan. So far, no official statement has been issued by Pakistan regarding this latest attack and the number of alleged casualties.
