Ayodhya: Amidst questions arising regarding the gold-adorned Ramcharitmanas book at the Ayodhya Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has clarified the situation. Gopal Rao, a special invitee member of the Trust, provided this information.
Gopal Rao stated that the gold-adorned Ramcharitmanas, gifted about two years ago by retired IAS officer Lakshminarayan, is completely safe. He mentioned that after the donation was received, the holy scripture was respectfully placed in front of the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Ram Lalla for some time, in accordance with the donor’s wishes. Subsequently, it was securely stored in the ‘Abhushan Kothari’ (ornament treasury) located in the temple complex’s ‘Gudmandap’—the same area where other valuable religious artifacts are preserved.
Gopal Rao also clarified that details of the said gift were recorded in the temple’s official register at the time. He added that Lakshminarayan is welcome to visit the temple and view the book himself whenever he wishes. Following this clarification by the Trust, it is expected that the ongoing discussions and speculations regarding the gold-adorned Ramcharitmanas will be put to rest.
Gopal (Special Invitee Member, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra) said, “The gold-adorned Ramcharitmanas gifted by Lakshminarayan is completely safe. Initially, it was placed before the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Ram Lalla as per his wishes; later, it was securely stored in the ornament treasury located in the Gudmandap. Details regarding this are also recorded in the temple’s register. He can come and view it at any time.”
