New Delhi: The month of August has begun with a major relief for hotels, restaurants and other commercial establishments as oil marketing companies have slashed the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by more than ₹200. The revised rates came into effect from August 1, 2026. However, there is no change in the prices of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders.
Under the latest revision, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by ₹202 in Delhi, bringing the new rate down to ₹2,728. In Kolkata, the cylinder has become cheaper by ₹209 and will now cost ₹2,872.50. This marks the second consecutive monthly reduction in commercial LPG prices.
With the latest cut, commercial LPG prices in Delhi have fallen by a cumulative ₹385.50 over the past two months, offering significant relief to businesses that rely heavily on LPG for daily operations.
Second consecutive price cut
Oil companies had also reduced commercial LPG prices in July by over ₹183. Following that revision, the price of a 19-kg cylinder in Delhi had dropped from ₹3,113.50 to ₹2,930, while in Kolkata it was reduced from ₹3,255.50 to ₹3,081.50. The fresh August cut has further lowered operating costs for commercial users.
No change in domestic LPG prices
Despite the continued reduction in commercial cylinder rates, domestic consumers have received no relief. The prices of 14.2-kg household LPG cylinders remain unchanged since the last revision on June 7.
Domestic LPG continues to be priced at ₹942 in Delhi, ₹968 in Kolkata, ₹941.50 in Mumbai and ₹957.50 in Chennai. As a result, while commercial users have benefited from consecutive price cuts, household consumers will continue to pay the existing rates.
