Ceasefire extended only till May 18… After this claim of Foreign Minister Dar, there is an atmosphere of panic in Pakistan

May 16, 2025

Islamabad. The Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan also spoke on the hotline yesterday to discuss the issue of ceasefire. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar claimed on Thursday that both sides have now extended the ceasefire till May 18. However, there has been no response from the Indian side on Dar’s claim yet. Many speculations are now being made in Pakistan on Dar’s claim.

India and Pakistan had agreed to ceasefire on May 10 to end the conflict after four days of drone and missile attacks from across the border. Ishaq Dar told the Senate, the upper house of the Pak Parliament, that Pakistan’s DGMO Major General Kashif Abdullah and his Indian counterpart Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai spoke on the hotline on Wednesday afternoon.

The two DGMOs will contact again on May 18
An Indian Army official said in New Delhi, “As per the consensus reached between the two DGMOs on May 10, 2025, it has been decided to continue with the confidence building measures to reduce the level of alertness.” In his address, Dar said that the two DGMOs will contact again on May 18. No details of the conversation were shared, except that they agreed to respect the ceasefire.

2-2 Ceasefire extended for four more days
However, Geo News quoted Dar as saying that after the talks held on May 14, the ceasefire was extended till May 18. The channel quoted Dar as saying, “During the DGMO’s talks (on May 10), the ceasefire was extended till May 12. When the DGMO spoke again on May 12, the ceasefire was extended till May 14. After further talks on May 14, the ceasefire was extended till May 18.”

Pakistan is scared of India’s action
Let us tell you that in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, India carried out precision strikes on terrorist structures under Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) under ‘Operation Sindoor’ on the morning of May 7, in which 26 people were killed. After the Indian action, Pakistan attempted to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9 and 10. The Indian Army carried out a fierce retaliatory attack on several Pakistani military installations. Pakistan has suffered extensive damage in this. Many of its airbases and radar systems have been destroyed.
