New Delhi: A massive fire broke out in the Trauma Center of AIIMS in the capital Delhi at 3.55 pm on Thursday, creating a stir. Actually, the fire broke out in the 33000 volt electric transformer installed in the Trauma Center. During this, there was a huge explosion in the transformer. The fire brigade was immediately informed about the fire. Immediately after this, 8 fire engines were sent to the spot. The fire fighters quickly controlled the fire and secured the surrounding area.
The transformer of AIIMS Trauma Center which caught fire had two more transformers of 33000 volts. If the fire had reached them, the situation could have been more horrific. Not only this, there is also a doctors’ hostel just 5 meters away from the spot. The fire fighters controlled the fire in time.
According to Delhi Fire Officer Manoj Ahlawat, the massive fire in the transformer was completely controlled within about 30 to 35 minutes. His team worked with full dedication even in risky conditions and did not let anyone get harmed in the hospital premises.
Let us tell you that when this incident happened, hundreds of patients were being treated in AIIMS Trauma Center, due to the promptness and understanding of the fire fighters, a major accident was averted and there was no impact on the services of the hospital. The situation in the hospital remained normal and the patients did not face any inconvenience.
