New Delhi. A big disclosure has been made in the action of Delhi Police on Bangladeshi nationals. Thousands of Bangladeshis living illegally in Delhi and other states were taking advantage of subsidy schemes. Police has registered an FIR in this regard at New Friends Colony police station. Investigation revealed that the gang leader Chand Miyan has settled thousands of Bangladeshi citizens across the country. The accused used to bring them to India and get them jobs.
At present, the police is interrogating the people of the gang and conducting raids to identify and arrest other accused. DCP Ravi Kumar said that after interrogating Aslam, Inspector Vishnu Dutt’s team arrested Bangladeshi citizens Chand Mian, Mohammad Ali Hussain, Mohammad Mijan, Fatima, Radis Mulla and Indian citizens Ranjan Kumar, Lukman, Mohammad Anees, Rahisuddin Ali, Shabbir Ali of his gang. Ranjan Kumar, Mohammad Anees, and Shabbir Ali used to make Aadhar cards.
FIR under these sections
The police officer said that an FIR has been registered against the accused under section 318 (2)/319 (2)/336/337/338/61 (1) (A) of BNS, 14 Foreigners Act and 34 Aadhar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act 2016 at New Friends Colony police station.
The police team stayed in Guwahati for one and a half months: The DCP said that Inspector Vishnu Dutt’s team got information about Chand Mian after interrogating Aslam. The police started chasing him, but he crossed the Bangladesh border. After this, a team of SI Satyanarayan, SI Sudhir and ASI Upendra were given the task of gathering information about Chand Miyan and his network by staying in Guwahati for about one and a half months. This team tracked Chand Miyan in the train while he was returning to India from Bangladesh.
Indian citizens used to prepare documents: In Delhi, Ranjan Kumar, Mohammad Anees, Shabbir Ali used to prepare fake Aadhaar cards of Bangladeshi citizens. Whereas, Rahisuddin Ali used to prepare birth and caste certificates. The accused used to give these documents and mobile SIM cards to Bangladeshi citizens. On the information given by Chand, the Delhi Police team raided various warehouses in Chennai. 33 Bangladeshi citizens were caught working there.
Six Bangladeshi women living illegally caught: Mandavali police of East Delhi has also caught six Bangladeshi women living illegally in India recently. The police has started the deportation process to send all these women back to Bangladesh.
He used to bring people to India to get them jobs
Investigation has revealed that 55-year-old Chand Mian came to India at the age of four. He has been working to settle Bangladeshi citizens for the last 12 years. During interrogation, the accused told that he first lived in Seemapuri in Delhi and then in Taimur Nagar. He shifted to Chennai a few years ago. Here he made an agreement with people running warehouses and shops, under which he used to bring laborers for them on commission. The accused told that he used to go to Bangladesh thrice a month and used to bring 8 to 10 Bangladeshi citizens with him from there every time.
Gang making Bangladeshis ‘Indian’ caught, 51 arrested
The Anti Narcotics Squad of Delhi Police has arrested 51 people including 11 members of the gang that settled Bangladeshi citizens in India. These include five Indian citizens as well. Gang leader Chand Miyan said that his gang used to help Bangladeshi citizens enter India illegally, make fake documents and get employment. Many Bangladeshis were also caught who also took subsidy of government schemes from the Government of India. After interrogation, the police have also arrested 33 Bangladeshi citizens from Chennai. Apart from this, more than a hundred Bangladeshis and agents are under the police investigation. Apart from this, 8 Bangladeshi citizens were caught from the train and handed over to FRRO for deportation.
DCP Ravi Kumar said that on March 12, the police had received information that a Bangladeshi citizen was living illegally in Pahari No. 2, Taimur Nagar. The police arrested the accused 25-year-old Aslam alias XX Masoom and started interrogation. During interrogation, he told that he is a resident of Noakhali area of Bangladesh. Police have seized Indian Aadhar card and Bangladeshi ID from him.
