Sonam came to Indore after Raja’s murder, met her lover Raj

Indore: As soon as Raja Raghuvanshi’s body was found in Shillong on June 2, police officers started investigating from every angle. Only after June 5, police officers got indications of Sonam’s involvement in the murder. After this, Shillong SP Vivek Siem formed a team of 25 officers to investigate and reveal the whole case. His action was named ‘Operation Honeymoon’.

This is what revealed the murder by arresting five accused including Raja’s wife Sonam on June 9, the 18th day of Raja’s murder. Investigation has also revealed that after killing Raja, Sonam came to Indore on May 25 and stayed with her lover Raj Kushwaha in a rented house in Nandbagh of Tigria Badshah area.

Shillong police has also come across the fact that Sonam came to Indore via Siliguri after the murder and stayed in a rented room with her lover Raj. Then from there she went to Varanasi She reached Ghazipur via Indore. Police is also investigating this, although Indore police did not confirm Sonam’s arrival in Indore. Shillong police will now investigate the fact that Sonam had really gone to Indore or had stopped in between after Sonam reaches Shillong.

Shillong police had also received information about Sonam being seen with three youths. Three accused were seen with Sonam in a CCTV camera 10 km away from the crime scene. Police had then come to know that three youths along with Sonam were involved in this murder. Only after that a team of Shillong police officers had gathered to collect evidence against them. The team used to go to the ditch to search for evidence used in the murder, but Sonam’s brother felt that Shillong police was not showing seriousness, while the police officers wanted to catch Sonam and other accused.

By then pressure from Madhya Pradesh had started increasing to demand a CBI inquiry into the case, but the Meghalaya government did not show haste in this matter. Police officers wanted ‘Operation Honeymoon’ to be successful and This murder case should be revealed only after the accused is arrested.
