New Delhi: Amidst the questions raised by Rahul Gandhi on the Election Commission regarding vote theft, Madhya Pradesh Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar has also accused the Election Commission of manipulating about 16 lakh votes in the 2023 assembly elections. Umang Singhar, who came before the media with the documents of the Election Commission, said that BJP has formed the government in 2023 by stealing votes and getting a fake mandate in Madhya Pradesh, in which the Election Commission played an important role.
Umang Singhar told that before the 2023 elections, more than 34 lakh new voters’ names were added in MP. In 7 months, 4.5 lakh voters increased, but in the last two months, 16 lakh votes increased by adding 26 thousand votes every day. In the 2018 elections, BJP got more than 1 percent votes than Congress. At the same time, in 2023 it increased to 8-9 percent. That is, 8-9 percent votes were stolen.
The Leader of Opposition said that Congress lost 27 seats in the 2023 elections due to vote rigging. Umang Singhar claims that there are 25 to 26 seats where the number of voters increased by 7 to 10 thousand in two months before the elections, whose list was neither given to the assembly candidates nor to the political parties, where the difference between victory and defeat was 5 thousand votes, then the number of votes increased by 11 thousand.
According to Umang Singhar, the Election Commission had issued a letter on June 9, 2023 to the Chief Electoral Officers of Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Rajasthan, ordering that the list of voters removed or added in the voter list after June 30 has not been given by the Election Commission. The Election Commission had clearly written that the list will neither be put on the website nor will it be given to anyone.
Singhar raised questions on the Election Commission and said that the Chief Electoral Officer of Madhya Pradesh had issued an order on 2 December 2022 that 8.5 lakh fake voters would be removed. Apart from this, when information was sought in the RTI, the Commission said that we do not keep digital data. Whereas it is clear in Rule-32 of the Commission that the Commission has to keep the data for 3 years. In this matter, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar has said that they will all go to court.
