The two leaders discussed state development and strategy for the upcoming Assembly session. They also devised a plan to aggressively counter a potential no-confidence motion from the BJP and JDS. Meanwhile, DK Shivakumar had been wanting to meet with the Congress high command but was unable to find time immediately, citing the Parliament session as the reason.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar expressed his respect by welcoming the Chief Minister to his residence today. After meeting with DK Shivakumar for breakfast, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that they discussed several issues during their meeting. They discussed all these issues and have planned to respond aggressively. Both leaders will unite and face the opposition.
The Chief Minister said that they are ready to respond to both (BJP and JDS). All strategies have been discussed regarding the state’s key issues, whether farmers’ issues or others, that need to be raised and discussed in the House. The Chief Minister also said that the central government is speaking as if it has no responsibility to respond. He clarified that all his MLAs are united and will face the opposition together.
Welcoming the Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar said that he is always ready to work for the development of Karnataka and the progress of the people. Siddaramaiah said that DK had invited him for breakfast today. The two had breakfast today, which was attended by DK Suresh and MLA Ranganath. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also clarified the ongoing discussion about food. He said, “Look, it was vegetarian at my house. It was non-vegetarian at his house. That’s the only difference.” After breakfast, the two leaders discussed strategy for the upcoming Assembly session, which begins on December 8th.
The Chief Minister stated that if time permits, he will meet with the party high command if the high command allows him an appointment. However, according to top Congress sources in Karnataka, DK Shivakumar has not been given an appointment with the high command at this time. He has been told not to come to Delhi because Parliament is in session. The top leadership briefly met with state in-charge Randeep Surjewala yesterday, but there was no discussion on the change of power in Karnataka.
